Timothy found this gate quite interesting. It looks to have originally had a curved top, which was perhaps later squared off and then additional tall spikes added above the original curve. At the bottom of a big garden facing the well, Timothy thinks that before the house was plumbed in, it might have provided a shortcut for people from the house to get to the well.
