London Underground has a large building just down the road from South Kensington tube station, and along the whole front of it is a corking bit of metal fence with loads of hanging spikes.  Timothy checked that the sign only said that bikes must not be chained to the fence, and then, knowing that it was not prohibited, had himself a quick hang.
