Cyril Payne Crossing in Uxbridge, Middlesex. Copied from the local council’s magazine from 2009:
A plaque remembering a dedicated worker who helped hundreds of school children to get to and from school safely has been unveiled at the school where he worked. Cyril Payne worked as a School Cross Patrol at Hermitage School in Uxbridge until he died in July last year. He was well loved by parents and children and well thought of by the school community, so much so he was often invited into the school for plays and special assemblies.
