Timothy took a train from London south down to Earlsfield in Surrey and was going to walk to his friend’s house, but it was really caining it down with rain, so instead he waited for a lift.
Joke! He was never intending to walk. He was going to be carried between the station and his friend’s house, but the bag operator refused to walk in the heavy rain.
Here he is waiting in the Victorian train station in Earlsfield. Much of the station is still original, and the door doesn’t look like a recent replacement. The Victorians didn’t mess about when they built stuff, did they.
